Culturgest, a foundation of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, is dedicated to contemporary creation in all shapes and forms. Its cultural programming is diverse and comprehensive in the areas of performance, music, visual arts, cinema and contemporary thought. Every day, the Areeiro neighbourhood opens its doors to a new form of artistic expression that comes from every corner of the world.
This cultural space was inaugurated in 1993 and has, since then, developed a significant role in the artistic promotion of Lisbon. It accompanies the careers of directors and choreographers, producing new creations and presenting them to a diversified public, commissioning works to visual artists, organising individual and collective exhibitions, organising music concerts of all genres and supporting the largest film festivals in the city.
It is the perfect destination for a Monday to Friday evening plan, or a cultural immersion during the Christmas holidays.
