What is the future of Lisbon’s neighbourhoods? The community spirit that has always given life to Lisbon’s neighbourhoods is now going through a phase of great change, driven by technological advances and new generational concerns related to social and environmental factors. In the streets, the world jumps and moves forward.
With 11 years of activity, Refood continues to be governed by the ideals that materialised this movement: to create a new world, where everyone has the right to the food they need, where the food produced is first and foremost to feed people, and where the team that collaborates for this mission is made up of citizens who actively participate in the management of these precious resources. Today, the Refood movement achieves remarkable goals, reaching 7,500 volunteers and 150,000 meals a month in the 60 areas where they operate.
Refood works as an authentic driving force between the communities of the neighbourhoods where it is active, being a great way of actively collaborating for a more favourable situation among all the residents of the various areas of Lisbon. This movement is present in all neighbourhoods and you can join it in three different ways: you can collaborate as a beneficiary, as a volunteer or, if you own an establishment, as a partner.
